About Michelle Bright

Originally from Avon, Indiana, Michelle has called Benton Township home for the last 26 years. While raising her family in this wonderful community, she has been involved in activities such as Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Unionville PTO, various swim teams and the North band programs. Today, she volunteers with Area 10 Agency on Aging, the Unionville Cemetery Association Board, and the Democratic Women’s Caucus.

Michelle became involved in local government in 2010 when the Herald Times raised questions about the integrity of the Trustee’s Office. Angry about the rumors involving misappropriation, she started attending Township Board meetings and asking questions to hold officials accountable. When the Trustee resigned under controversy in 2012, the party caucus selected Michelle to be the new Trustee.

Michelle has enjoyed her time serving as Township Trustee, taking her role of a public official handling tax funds very seriously. She is passionate about responsibility, transparency, and ethics in local government.

Michelle currently works as an IT Business Analyst for Indiana University, and currently serves as the Benton Township Trustee.
